Rolex is probably the most recognized watch brand in the world, even among non-enthusiasts. The company was founded 1905 as Wilsdorf and Davis by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in London. It would later move to Geneva and become Rolex SA. The brand is rather conservative in their style and design, with most new watches being either variations of existing models or incremental improvements. The approach seems to have worked in their favor so far, especially with their more popular models such as the Submariner, Datejust and Daytona and with most of their catalog selling above retail prices on the secondary market.
