I own this watch for some time already and has not disappointed in any way. Extremely comfortable, light, shinny and ready for any ocasion.

Shcool, office and even some semi-formal events. It holds more water resistance than suggested, but still dont take too much risk. It is dressy and very affordable. The backlight is amazing and it wears so good because of it's very slim profile. . Ideal for medium to smaller wrists. Highly recommendable.

It's pretty basic: it has the same exact functions as the F-91W. The digital screen is also gold which is a nice touch. Very legible, unless you get blinded by the reflection of the sun on the golden case.

It does have some Negatives though, none are really deal-breakers:

  • The plastic scratches very very very very easily. I think even wiping it off with my shirt scratched it.
  • Price is a bit steep for what it is, but a great buy on sale.
  • Missed opportunity to make this out of actual polished metal. A premium case would make this a much nicer overall experience.

Such a fun tacky watch, worth picking up if you want to wear a gaudy gold disco ball outside.

Does it look like an *expensive* watch? No, I wouldn’t say that, but it does look like a bloody cool one! Despite the heavily simplified presentation, it still boasts a retro charm, only from a slightly different perspective. To me, this feels like a fun and highly palatable watch that pays homage to a slightly earlier epoch, given the confident, high-shine aesthetic that gives me a hint of disco vibes.

I suspect one or two of you will think the reduced text looks a bit boring, which I can totally understand, but I’d definitely urge you to try and get a look at these in a store, as they really do have that special sauce. The great news is if you don’t like the changes, you can still grab the old one at any time.

In essence, the A700WEV is the digital watch for people who don’t like digital watches. If you’ve never tried one before, you’ll struggle to find one as fun and sexy as this, for so few pennies.

The Casio A700W stands out for those seeking elegance in simplicity, combined with practical functionality. It's not without its flaws, but for anyone looking to step up their watch game from the ultra-casual to something that can pass muster in more formal settings, this watch is a compelling choice. Its strengths in design, comfort, and visibility make it a worthy contender in the realm of affordable timepieces.
