About the Adamascus AD8 Date 41mm

Possibly the watch that put Wise on the map, the Adamascus AD8 does everything right according to the spec sheet. A familiar looking dive watch that does enough to make it stand out on its own and offer a good deal in terms of value for money.

The AD8 is constructed from 904 stainless steel as most of the Wise models, a material that is not very common in the watch world but very close to the formula of stainless steel that Rolex use for their watches. Paired with it there is a ceramic bezel insert surrounding a fairly original patterned dial paired with an original set of hands and markers.

As with most Wise models there are plenty of variations of dial and bezel colors to choose from and a few options in terms of bracelet and straps.

I've had the watch for over a week now, and I'm very happy with the purchase. The finish on the watch is superb. I couldn't pick out one thing that I don't like about it (maybe the brand name "wise", but then it doesn't bother me much). And it's been going +2 seconds after 5 days of wearing. I really enjoyed the watch so far. I was apprehensive about the 41mm case size because my wrist is small (6.25 in). My Zelos Blacktip and Christopher Ward C65 diver are both listed as 41mm, and both look too big on my wrist. But this watch looks and wears like a 40mm, which is very comfortable even for my wrist size.

Aside from the overall excellent workmanship, it has the best lume I've ever seen. Even the benchmark Citizen BN0151 pales next to the Wise with envy. [...] The indices look awesome, not as surgically clean as the San Martin, but they are of a great standard. The application of strong lume is excellent. The shape of the indices is also interesting, they form little "houses" and can create interesting effects in the light. I have to highlight the hands, which are practically flawless at the microscopic level, everything is in the best order here. The printing on the dial is also excellent. I didn't notice any dust on the dial, which is another indicator of great workmanship.
