Lorier continues to make some great watches. Just received my Hyperion SII in the mail this week and it wears great. Quite thin at 10.7mm including the crystal, and what for me is a perfect case width at 39mm.
I really like the muted tones on the bezel & the gilt face - gives it a more vintage feel than some of the GMTs I see floating around so I immediately gravitated towards it. Keeping great time so far & the bi-directional bezel rotates smoothly.
One of the features I like the most is their updates 5-link bracelet. It wears very light, but still feels relatively high quality for a sub-$1000 watch. The 5-link really catches the light well as you move your wrist around. This will probably be my daily wearer for some time to come!
PROS
CONS
I think Lorier really nailed the vintage look they were trying to go for.
I love the fact that they tried to make their own version of a GMT instead of just copying a well known brand.
I really love the faded colors of the bakelite-esque bezel (compared to some more eye catching ones), the gilt print, the overall very well balanced dial with some details like the trapezoidal date window at 6 o'clock, the roulette datewheel.
I had some concerns about the domed hesalite crystal but they vanished, it really adds to the vintage look and the watch really would be different with a sapphire. It's hard to capture in photos but the hesalite definitely is more pleasing to the eye, somewhat warmer and clearer.
